David Michel is a serial entrepreneur. He grew up in a small mid-western town not unlike Tarrytown. After college, graduate school and various jobs, he founded WonderWings.com Entertainment in 1994 with the goal of creating a high-quality non-violent series for TV's youngest viewers. The genesis of airplane characters arose from David's "million-miler" status flying on business trips for his previous job. Michel's then-3-year-old son John was fascinated by his Dad's aviation stories.

WonderWings.com Entertainment sold thousands of videos directly to consumers and garnered 12 national awards for excellence in children's programming. "A perfect companion for preschoolers," said USA Today. Seven years later, JAY JAY THE JET PLANE premiered on PBS Kids as a daily "Ready to Learn" series. Michel is delighted that the JAY JAY THE JET PLANE series on PBS showcases ground-breaking 3D animation while maintaining the charm and simplicity of the original shows.

David lives with his family in Dallas, Texas, where he manages a corporate wellness company called WinningHabits that he founded in 2000.
